Gung Hay Fat Haggis or something...

Happy belated Robbie Burns day. The guy in the picture above is some dude from my university which happens to have a world champion bag-pipe band.

Hmm.... hot guys in skirts blowing into noisy bags... SIGN ME UP!

It also happens to be Chinese New Year season which was brought to my attention when I stopped at my local grocery store to pick up provisions.

2005 is the year of the Rooster.

I happen to be a rooster myself so I hope this will be a good year for me. A rooster description:

The Year Of The Rooster

1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005

People born in the Year of the Rooster are deep thinkers, capable, and talented. They like to be busy and are devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail. People born in the Rooster Year are often a bit eccentric, and often have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Rooster people¡¦s emotions like their fortunes, swing very high to very low. They can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave. They are most compatible with Ox, Snake, and Dragon

I'm not sure if that describes me or not. It is at least if not more accurate than my other zodiac description (Taurus) that describes me as stubborn and materialistic. (the stubborn part might kind of be true - but that is because I'm a rooster and roosters are usually right)

We Scots don't get all the press and hype that the Irish do, so we have to share space with all the "authentic" Irish pubs and Paddy's Day celebrations. Admittedly, we kind of deserve it. The Irish are masters of self-promotion, and have a rich legacy to draw upon. The Scottish Puritans burned down all the theaters and tried to crush the creative spirit that the Irish seem to nurture so well.

Gee, can you tell I'm a little bitter towards the Scots?

Ah well... the Scots aren't that bad. If they had a Blarney Stone, they would be far better tho!

I happen to be Irish myself, and we really do excel at talking (people into things)

This Chinese New Year begins on the 9th February 2005. It is the year 4702 – Year of the Rooster, the 10th in the Chinese zodiac cycle. More precisely, the element which is prominent this year is Wood, and as such it is the Year of the Wood Rooster (also sometimes referred to as the Green Rooster.

According to the Chinese zodiac, Roosters are meticulous and organised, faithful to friends and very family oriented whilst honest, outspoken and sometimes blunt. They also have a keen eye for detail making them great lawyers, doctors and scientists. Therefore, this year we will experience many traits of the Rooster.

Celebrating the New Year with family and friends is a very ‘rooster’ thing to do. We can expect scientific achievements and creative projects this year; planning is essential to a great year.free tarot reading
