Oh yeah....

A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an
unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the
medicine and psychology in the world.
~Paul Dudley White

I went for a long walk today. It did me much good.

It's true. Decent exercise is no enough to fight off depression alone, but without it, I don't think it's possible.

Not for me anyhow. A couple weeks without working out and I start to make oregami nooses.

I think its true that exercise of any kind helps, but there is something special about going for a long walk. It seems kind of like a moving meditation to me sometimes.

driving 5 miles raises my stress levels about 3000 degrees...walking is much more relaxing.

Whenever I get too saddened or disheartened I put on my sneakers and jog. Sometimes this happens at midnight, so I suppose it's a good thing I live in a safe little college town.

yeah..if you are out jogging at midnight wearing only your sneakers, i guess that is a good thing.

darth-you're obviously driving the wrong five miles!
According to my PCP (primary care physician), walking helps you lose weight, battle depression, helps keep diabetes in check, and helps combat migraines. Not sure what else walking is a wonder cure for, but am fascinated. It's nearly like snake oil...
